DATE ---------------------- 2/26/12

TIMES --------------------- 11am-4pm

CONDITIONS ------------- Forties, with wind

AREA FISHED ------------- north end, Bradys and North

FISHING METHOD ------- Jigs and a bobber

BAIT/LURES USED ------- Hair Jigs

NOTES --------------------- First day on the lake!! First time I picked up a fishing pole in 6 Months!!! Boy it felt good going out today and setting the hook. We fished in about 3 ft of water. A foot or so under a bobber. Being a foot or so down under the bob put the jig just in the standing weeds. Seemed like the fish were hanging in the weeds. Absolutely the best first day! We took 22 crappies to the fillet board this evening. Most Crappies were in the 7 inch class, but every once in a while you got a 11-12 incher. Had steady fish the whole time out. Had some yellow perch mixed in. The season has started! Get out and fish!!

TIMES --------------------- 9am to 1:30pm

CONDITIONS ------------- Wind, Partly Cloudy, Mild

AREA FISHED ------------- Woodport

WATER TEMPERATURE-- 37-40 degrees

FISHING METHOD ------- Tossing big jerkbaits on a stout musky rod

BAIT/LURES USED ------- Big jerkbaits

NOTES --------------------- Just landed a small musky on another lake a couple days ago and was hoping the new moon would keep the fish biting. Rented a boat from Laurie and headed to Woodport where the water was just a tad warmer. After getting blown around a bit, I settled in on a nice drift and started casting to the weedline when she hit. After a quick fight, she was in the Stowmaster and successfully CPR'ed.
