Dear Governor Whitman,

      I am writing to express my support for the SAVE THE LAKE: 2000 campaign sponsored by the Knee Deep Club of Lake Hopatcong. The state's largest lake has long been neglected and mismanaged and we need to find a solution now. This will require permanent and adequate funding and the formation of a lake commission with a full time staff. The four towns surrounding the lake and the Lake Hopatcong Regional Planning Board have all drafted Formal Resolutions supporting SAVE THE LAKE: 2000 and I hope you will support their efforts. Please accept the Knee Deep Club's invitation to visit the lake and meet with all of the mayors, the LHRPB and the state representatives that represent Morris and Sussex Counties. If we all work hard together we can find solutions to the many environmental problems that confront this wonderful rsource.
