CONDITIONS ------------- Breezy

AREA FISHED ------------- Near the State Park Beach

FISHING METHOD ------- Anchored/Drifting

BAIT/LURES USED ------- Spinnerbaits/Rapalas

NOTES --------------------- Fished for a few hours caught and lost a few pickerel to 24" and Lou lost a nice 4-5lb largemouth that jumped and threw the hook right at the boat. Were about to pack up and decided to move more to the center and do one drift over the weedbed. Caught a 19" 3.5 lb striper on a chartreuse spinnerbait in about 7' of water that I was burning right below the surface.

DATE ---------------------- 10/14/14

TIMES --------------------- 8 am until 11:30 am

CONDITIONS ------------- Cloudy

AREA FISHED ------------- Sharps Rock

WATER TEMPERATURE-- 60 to 61 degrees

FISHING METHOD ------- Trolling my home made flies with the Deck Arm

BAIT/LURES USED ------- Home made fly with a touch of my wife's hair.

NOTES --------------------- I had the lake to myself for once. No pleasure boaters bothering the feeding frenzy that was taking place. I caught 2 or 3 Hybrids around 7:50 am average sizes 3 to 5 lbs. Then I noticed some bigger fish just below the school. After turning around for another pass I slowed my troll down to 1.7 mph and got snagged on the bottom in 27 to 28 feet of water. I then realized at that speed I could target the bigger fish just under the school. As i made my next pass I hooked up with a 21 1/2 inch 5 lb. small mouth. Not even thinking it would be a record I released it after the photo. My next pass produced an 8 lb. 9 oz. large mouth that measured in at 24 inches long with a 19 inch girth. I have no live well on my boat but I always bring a cooler. Today I did not. I knew this fish was a record and decided to keep and mount it. All measurements were performed at Dow's by Joe Walsh. I ended the day with 1 smally 3 or 4 large mouth and 7 hybrids.
