NOTES --------------------- NOTES: We pulled together and we all put an effort to make the Catfish Contest a success. Well.. Days and days of chumming prior to the contest and high hopes, no big cats found. But!... Will did manage to hook a local sea monster. Lol biggest snapper I've seen in a while. I'd estimate 30lb plus. Fun night. Lots of stories.

CONDITIONS ------------- Perfect
AREA FISHED ------------- Barnes Ridge
FISHING METHOD ------- Trolling Home Made Flies with the Deck Arm
BAIT/LURES USED ------- he same Fly pattern that landed my Monster Bass
NOTES --------------------- Myself and my fishing buddy Chris Pereira decided to hit the big lake early before the pleasure boaters and water skiers ruined the fishing. I landed my first walleye on a fly 23 1/2 inches and 4 1/2 lbs. At first I thought it was just luck but 10 minutes later Chris hooked into one his self also on a fly that he designed and tied his self. He named it the Silver Surfer because of the gray pattern almost like a herring. Before we left we had 7 fish all together. 5 small mouth and 2 walleye. I think we could have caught more had we started fishing a little earlier. It was still awesome to get my first walleye on a fly with the Deck Arm. Chris was pulling his flies by hand and caught almost as many fish as I did.
