FISHING METHOD ------- Pitching bait to docks/structures
BAIT/LURES USED ------- Herring
NOTES --------------------- Left the dock at 5am. Head into the back of Great Cove throwing a Zara spook. Caught several pickeral. No bass interested with the top water. Around 7 a large school of herring surfaced. I set the boat up to drift near the baitfish. Within seconds of drifting bait I got my first bass. Boated the fish prob like 2.5lbs. The school of herring didn't disappeared shortly after. I changed tactics and started pitching live herring near the docks. Fifteen mins into the new strategy I hooked up with a big boy. Boated the fish and headed to the scale. Weighed 4lb 3oz. Few hours later Pete Rathgens weighed in a bigger fish. I spent the rest of the time looking for a miracle lol. Totaled nearly two dozen largemouths( most about 12"). Caught several yellow perch and rockbass. Lots of panfish in the shallows still. It was great to have such a nice day to fish.

NOTES --------------------- We had a banner day I was marking a huge school of fish and was wondering what they were. Boy did we find out. Big crappie, bluegill and even a pickerel or 2. Chris was high hook at 44 I ended up with the biggest crappie. I had sunblock on and still the sun was hitting my feet and I thought I was burning up. What a beautiful day though.
